This work depicts donkeys and their handlers waiting for tourists at the entrance of the acropolis in Lindos, on the Greek island of Rhodes.

The 30″ x 21″ giclée prints are signed by Michael and the 16″ x 12″ giclée prints come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Michael.

Description

Michael found this little gem while taking an island bus tour on a mountainous road. The first thing he noticed was the herd of donkeys travelling up a precarious mountain track. Needless to say he decided to walk and felt sorry for the poor animals working in the tremendous heat.

The colour harmonies for Lindos were natural for that kind of terrain. The aged effect of the medieval walls complemented the bright clothes of the figures, allied to the contrast of the dark brown donkeys and sunlit paved stone ground.
