Description

The idea for this still life work came from seeing the vase at an auction. Michael thought the striking colours and pattern of the vase would be an ideal container for a bunch of poppies as the main flower piece.

The dotted yellow flowers break up and contrast with the red of the poppies, while the round table top with reflections of light from the background sets off the flower piece.

Michael’s other still life works are Italian Wildflowers, Spanish Wildflowers and Violets in a Crystal Glass.
