Description

The busker artwork was created as a result of a trip to Loch Lomond Shores. When Michael heard him playing the acoustic guitar just outside the Gateway Centre it caught his attention, and as he watched and listened he got the idea for the painting.

He liked the idea of dappled sunlight playing around the busker, which he had seen in many Impressionist works, and believes it’s the type of setting Monet would have loved.

The contrast of the blonde guitar and white hat stood out against the blues of the busker’s shirt and jeans, which in turn provided a nice harmony with the variety of greens used in both the background and the foreground. Michael felt this captured and enhanced the effect of the dappled sunlight. Needless to say he gave him a donation, but not a print. Not yet anyway.

Michael’s other portraiture work on the site is Cathedral Café. Another of Michael’s works from the area is Lodge on the Loch. In addition, Tiger study and Ghost of the Mountain (Snow Leopard) showcase Michael’s wildlife portraiture.
