Description
Laig Bay on the Isle of Eigg is one of the most spectacular beaches in Scotland, with its singing sands and breathtaking views of Rùm. This view was painted late evening when the tide was going out. The lines of the shore lead your eye into the painting, while the subdued colours perfectly capture the time of day.
The light from the sky reflecting on the small channels in the foreground provide depth to the work and a nice contrast to the varying blue tones throughout the work.
