Description
The magical Luskentyre Beach on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides is one of the world’s best beaches. With its white sands and turquoise water, it’s reminiscent of a Caribbean island and the ideal location for an artist.
A painting of the beach requires a high-key palette to capture the summer vibe and do it justice. Michael decided on the view from across the bay, where the natural curve of the shoreline carries the eye to the rocks in the middle distance and beyond to the blue hills of Harris. The dark greens and browns complementing the white sand and turquoise water of the Atlantic Ocean – giving the painting strength.
