Description

Michael wanted to paint a local autumn scene with plenty of trees and vibrant colours. He decided on the view from the top of the hill at Darroch Park in Gourock, due to the expanse of beautiful trees carpeted round Gourock town. Their bright colours vibrating against the cooling bright green of the park.

The sloping line on the left leads to the path through the park, with a few figures to provide scale. Another couple walk their dog in the foreground to draw your gaze to the middle centre, with the spire of St John’s church towering over the trees in a very harmonious scene.
