This work depicts a view of one of the many canals and the day to day life in and around Dorsoduro, Venice.

The large giclée prints are signed directly by Michael, and the 12″ x 12″ giclée prints come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Michael.

Description

Venice has a lot of offer from an artistic point of view, including, but not limited to beautiful colourful buildings, charming canals and exquisite water reflections enhanced by the gondolas. This particular scene depicts all three.

The canal leads the eye through the painting; with the bridges, boats and figures highlighting the detail of day to day canal life, flowing through to the Grand Canal in the distance. Such is life in and around Dorsoduro.

The blue-green of the canal offers a nice contrast to the surrounding buildings and the famous landmark of Santa Maria della Salute in the distance.

This is one of five works in Michael’s Echoes of Venice series, with the other four being San Marco, Grand Canal, View from Ponte dell’Accademia and St Mark’s Square.
